International students take learning tours in Beijing

A total of 108 international students who obtained Chinese Government Scholarships took part in "Experience China in Beijing" activities held by the China Scholarship Council from Wednesday to Friday.

The activities' purpose is to help overseas students better understand Chinese approaches to modern communication, agriculture and aerospace, traditional culture and democratic politics.

They visited organiztions and places including the National People's Congress, the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Chinese companies of Huawei and Jingdong, Zhongguancun Pioneer Park, universities and national laboratories.

The foreign students are from nearly 40 countries, mostly being countries involved in?the Belt and Road Initiative.

Throughout the tours, the students experienced China in multiple dimensions.

"What impressed me most is Chinese history and culture, and I really appreciate this opportunity," said Mohammed Ali Mohammed Zaher Azman, a student from Yemen studying at Northeastern University.

Asim Rauf, a Pakistani student from the Dalian University of Technology, thinks highly of the Belt and Road Initiative, saying "a lot of Pakistani people get jobs in Chinese companies thanks to the Initiative."

"It is a good activity that helps us learn about Chinese politics, technology and culture and I am glad to take part in it," said Bilguun Burentegsh, a Mongolian student from Nanjing Audit University who is studying in China for a second time. "China is my second hometown. I would like to be the bridge of China and my country."

"Experience China" activities started in 2015. Up to now, nearly 200 activity series have been held nationwide and over 15,000 overseas students are involved.
