China sees influx of visa-free foreigners

China has seen a surge of entry from foreigners during the third quarter this year, statistics from the National Immigration Administration showed.
During this period, more than 8.18 million foreigners entered China through ports across the country, a year-on-year increase of 48.8 percent, the administration revealed at a news conference on Friday.
Among these people, the number of foreigners entering China visa-free increased by 78.6 percent to more than 4.88 million.
China's immigration management authorities have seen a total of 160 million people entering and exiting the country during the third quarter, a year-on-year increase of 30.1 percent.
