Hunan official was murdered, obituary says
Liu Wenjie, head of Hunan provincial department of finance, was murdered at 9:12 am on Thursday in Changsha, Hunan province, the department said in an obituary on Friday.
Liu was 58 years old and her death is a major loss for the finance undertakings in Hunan, the obituary said.
Liu joined the Communist Party of China in June 1985 and started working in June 1990. She served at different Party and government posts in Hunan, such as chief economist of the Hunan provincial department of finance, member of the standing committee of the CPC Hunan commission for discipline inspection head of Hunan bureau of statistics.
She was a deputy to the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and a deputy to the 14th National People's Congress.
She had firm political belief, was loyal to the Party and dedicated to her post. She was hardworking, decent, fair, modest and disciplined, the obituary added.
