In his visit to RIA Novosti news agency in Moscow, Medvedev said a president is an experienced politician that may lead any party.

"Am I aiming for this? I would answer you that I not only do not rule out this for myself but also I believe that sooner or later this will happen," Medvedev said.

However, the president refused to answer which party he would like to lead, only saying that he could lead an existing party or one he creates.

Medvedev also said he believed that most of Russian parties would have been rebranded in 10 years.

Currently, major Russian political parties are the ruling United Russia, the Communist Party of Russia, A Just Russia, and the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia.
