TRIPOLI - NATO-led warplanes hit offices of the Libyan state broadcaster in Tripoli on Monday, providing a major boost to Libyan rebel forces, a Xinhua correspondent said.
NATO continued to intensify its airstrikes, launching several rounds of attacks. Jets struck military barracks in Tripoli and British Apache helicopters destroyed a rocket launch system near Brega.
The world's major powers, Britain, the United States and France, started on March 19 to launch strikes from the air and sea against Gaddafi's forces after the UN Security Council passed a resolution to impose a no-fly zone over Libya and ?authorize "all necessary measures" to protect civilians in Libya.
NATO formally took over full command and control of military operations against Libya from the US on March 31.
