Tickets for WTA Finals Singapore go on sale

Tennis fans, who expect to watch top female players live, or who expect to witness the comeback of retired Chinese star Li Na, had better take action as the tickets for the Women's Tennis Association Finals in Singapore will soon go on sale.

Following the success of last year's BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global, tournament organizer World Sport Group (WSG) announced on Wednesday that tickets for the season-ending tournament will go on sale to the general public beginning April 23.

Ticket prices will start from as low as $16.90 - same as last year - as part of a concerted effort to make the event as accessible as possible for fans. The 10-day sport entertainment spectacular features a record $7 million budget and takes place from Oct 23 to Nov 1, 2015. The event will be hosted at the Singapore Sports Hub in Singapore through 2018.

The tournament's official ticketing partners viagogo will deliver a secure online global platform that will allow tennis fans to get a piece of the action. Fans could now visit www.sportshub.com.sg/WTAFinals to book tickets in advance.

Even after tickets are sold out at the box office, fans will still be able to purchase tickets through viagogo, which makes tickets more easily available to customers.

OCBC Bank, the official financial service partner and StarHub, the official telecommunications and broadcast partner of the tournament will offer their customers early access to specially discounted tickets for a limited period, with deals starting from April 9 and April 16 respectively. OCBC card members and StarHub customers will be able to enjoy up to 7 percent off their ticket price during this pre-sale period, and five percent off once public sales begin on April 23.

Season passes and bundled tickets have also been introduced this year to offer dedicated fans even greater savings. Round Robin Session Flexi-Passes and Season Passes for all 13 'must-see' sessions featuring the world's top female tennis players will provide 10 percent off every ticket, while group bookings for 20 or more tickets and families of four will also be able to enjoy savings on their combined ticket costs. Special concession rates will also be available for students and senior citizens, and there will be free admission to the Fan Zone and selected player practice sessions.

This year's 10-day program of WTA Finals continues to build on the record crowds and excitement of last year's success. The singles and doubles competition will expand from seven to eight days, with the continued inclusion of the WTA Legends Classic, WTA Rising Stars Invitational and WTA Future Stars competition in 2015.

China's retired twice Grand Slam singles champion Li Na will also return to wow fans in Singapore as the event ambassador. The mother-to-be will likely come back on the court at the Legends Classic as well.

As part of the expanded programming for the 2015 tournament, the first day of competition will begin from Oct 25, and will see a spectacular Opening Night on-court ceremony. This year also sees the introduction of two 'supersized' sessions, for fans to watch up to four matches per session, held on Oct 26 and Oct 30.

The current Road to Singapore leaderboard comprises the following players (as of Monday, April 6) : 1. Serena Williams, 2. Simona Halep, 3. Maria Sharapova, 4.Carla Suarez Navarro, 5. Karolina Pliskova, 6. Venus Williams, 7. Ekaterina Makarova, 8. Caroline Wozniacki. The leaderboard is updated each Monday at www.wtafinals.com.

World Sport Group's Director of Operations, Sarah Clements, welcomed the enhanced ticket and programming offerings: "We are delighted to introduce new ticketing packages and enhanced program offering which I hope will thrill fans - in fact some of the new highlights were suggested by the fans! As we saw from the phenomenal response and turnout last year, the WTA Finals now occupies pride and place in Singapore and is now regarded as a must attend event on the global sporting calendar.

“Ticket prices remain accessible but now come with a broader range of options that offer greater flexibility. The host of program offerings includes centre court action, legends and rising star matches, meet and greet opportunities as well as Fan Zone activities ensuring there is truly something for everyone to enjoy.”

The Racquet Club, the premium hospitality program for the WTA Finals, concluded its early bird ticket phase on 28 February, following a period of brisk sales. Single session Racquet Club passes for both weekday and weekend packages are now available from S$595 per person (before GST). Only 700 tickets are available for each of the 13 match sessions, and passes have been snapped up quickly with over half of the total inventory already taken up.

Racquet Club benefits include access to reserved, premium baseline seats at Centre Court, world-class cuisine in a luxurious double-storey pavilion, a dedicated bar that serves free-flow champagne in the Aces Lounge within the Singapore Indoor Stadium as well as increased access to player appearances and meet-and-greet events. Last year, Racquet Club patrons had the opportunity to mingle with top tennis stars including Serena Williams, Li Na, Caroline Wozniacki, Billie Jean King, Chris Evert, and many more.
