A two-day fair in celebration of the approaching Year of the Dragon in Siming district in Xiamen, a coastal city in Fujian province, has brought the festive vibes of the Chinese traditional new year to residents.

The fair, held at the square of Paragon Center in Jialian, a sub-district of Siming district, opened on Jan 20. It featured both food and entertainment, including local snacks and dragon dances. Many interactive activities were also held, allowing visitors to try their hands at many traditional customs and crafts, such as calligraphy for new year couplets and lantern making.

Many visitors went to the fair dressed in hanfu, the traditional clothing of the Chinese Han people, adding to the event's festive atmosphere.
