Chongqing kids to walk with humanoid robots

Chinese humanoid robot industry leader Leju Robotics will build a R&D center, a manufacturing base and an education incubator in Chongqing's Liangjiang New Area, according to local media on Oct 13.

Leju Robotics currently has three major product series: Aelos, Mini and Talos. Aelos is a feature-packed programmable robot perfect for awakening the potential of children. It is the first home-developed humanoid robot that can walk rapidly on its feet.

"We will build a robot education base in Liangjiang New Area and focus on promoting AI programming courses around schools in Chongqing," said Chang Lin, CEO of Leju Robotics.

Chang pointed out that an era of artificial intelligence is on its way and intelligent devices will affect thousands of households. "AI programming will be a necessary skill for every one," he stressed.

Leju robots are able to walk at a maximum speed of 15 centimeters per second. "Normally after programming a robot to pass an obstacle, children have to spend hours waiting" Chang said, "Our products will solve this problem and allow students to focus more on practising programming skills."

The company also offers a solutions for AI programming education, including professional teacher training services for both primary and middle schools.

Leju Robotics is a high-end tech firm committed to the development of humanoid robots. As a member of Microsoft's accelerator program, the company has been invested in by Tencent Holdings, Shenzhen Capital and Green Pine Capital.
