The project launch of the 16th Going Global Strategy for Chinese Enterprises Forum, co-hosted by the Western Returned Scholars Association and the China Overseas-Educated Scholars Development Foundation, opened in Beijing on Dec 12.

Over 200 enterprise representatives from various countries, including Russia, Italy, Germany and the United States, delivered presentations of 86 projects in communication technology, Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, big data, new materials and medical biology industries.

All the projects presented at the event have been matched with domestic major projects from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Guizhou and other cities or regions.

Xu Changdong, president of the Western Returned Scholars Association Entrepreneur Alliance, noted that all the projects were chosen from the hot fields mentioned during the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and show China’s manufacturing capability, technological level and international competitive advantage.

Most representatives were invited from countries along the Belt and Road, and aimed to promote and publicize the investment environments in their own countries. The forum took this as an opportunity for win-win cooperation towards improving the free and convenient flow of production factors and creating a platform for inter-party cooperation, Xu added.

China-Tajikistan Industrial Park was the first industrial park built by China in Tajikistan. Under the background of the Belt and Road, it is one of the country’s landmark projects, and was also one of the major projects highlighted the event.

The project’s publicist Zhang Jieyuan said, since the first investment in Tajikistan in 2007, nearly ten thousand Tadzhiks have found employment.

"We have reached a consensus, that is, getting involved is much important than going out for Chinese enterprises," Zhang said.

Zhang said he feels the passion of China’s companies to go global, which is thanks to the opportunities and guarantees brought by the Belt and Road.

At the event, the Sinological Institute of China Overseas-Educated Scholars Development Foundation signed an agreement with the St. Petersburg State University of Economics to set up a Russian Sinology Research Center. Agreements for an American Sinology Research Center and Capital International Talent Port also were signed.
