The 2015 China (Karamay) International Petroleum and Petrochemical Technology and Equipment Exhibition (CIPPE) runs in Karamay, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, from Aug 31 to Sept 2.

The annual CIPPE is a top petroleum industry event, which has gained global prominence and influence over the years.

This year, more than 300 petroleum and petroleum-related machinery manufacturing companies from 21 countries and regions, including Royal Dutch Shell, Halliburton Company and Germany's SAACKE Group, participate in the exhibition.

The exhibition covers an area of 20,000 square meters. The total value of the advanced equipment on display is estimated to exceed 173 million yuan ($27.2 million).

At the 2015 CIPPE, 12 top global petroleum companies hold forums and meetings to showcase advanced technologies and research achievements and promote their products.

About 40 investment and purchase contracts worth more than 20 billion yuan are expected to be signed during the course of the exhibition.
