Hainan Sanya Bodhisattva Culture Man-made Island underpins the building of 108m high Bodhisattva (the Goddess of Mercy), or cross-century Buddhist statute.
The island is a round filling object 120 meters in diameter and 320 meters from the centre of the island to the bank with island surface 7 meters high and with an 8m-wide bridge connecting the buildings along the bank slope. The perilous execution conditions can mainly be seen in the annual occurrence of 1.8 times of typhoon and an annual wind speed of 2.9m/s with the maximum reaching 24m/s. The main works include 108,700m3 polder dike, 306,000 m3 boulder and 83,000 m3 filters.
