The English website of Pu'er, Yunnan province-- http://yunnan.chinadaily.com.cn/puer/ – had its official opening on Nov 25, thanks to the sponsorship of Yunnan Pu'er municipal Party committee and municipal government, and the joint efforts of the publicity department of Yunnan's Pu'er municipal Party committee and chinadaily.com.cn.
Pu'er, located in the border area of southwestern China, is an oasis on the Tropic of Cancer. Pu'er, where nature and man coexist in harmony, is a national garden city, a national cyclic economy pilot city, and a national pilot city for water ecological civilized construction.
The English website caters to an international community by providing detailed information on the city of Pu'er and latest local news updates from a fresh, new perspective, with the idea of raising Pu'er profile globally, and providing a window for foreigners on the city.
The website contains 10 major columns with both dynamic and static features. The news column features News and Events to describe Pu'er's development in relation to the rest of the world. Other columns, such as About, Investment, Green Pu’er, Ethnic Culture, and Travel bring a local perspective that shows Pu'er as an ideal location, with culture and nature, and business and travel information for people from all over.
