The Urumqi Cloud Computing Center, a major project, is to be put into service in August to provide the city with comprehensive and multi-faceted information application services.

According to information released by the Urumqi State High-tech Industrial Development?Zone on June 12, the main building has been largely completed and is now undergoing interior decoration.

The Urumqi Cloud Computing Center was constructed with an investment of one billion yuan ($15.19 million)?from Sugon Information Industry Co.

Urumqi is a pilot area of China's "intelligent city", and supplies new generation 2.0 information technologies to each of its industries. The center will aid Urumqi's pursuit of becoming an intelligent city by improving its social and economic management.
