The Supreme People's Court (SPC) and the Ministry of Veterans Affairs (MVA) have jointly issued a guideline on providing better judicial services for veterans to meet their needs of diversified dispute resolution.

According to the guideline, grassroots veteran service centers will be the frontline of dispute resolution, where cultural activities themed on rule of law will be carried out for veterans to increase their legal knowledge. Grassroots courts could also set up circuit courts at county-level veteran service centers for better dispute resolution efficiency.

The guideline also requires courts to set up mediation offices for veterans at their litigation service centers, give full play to the advantage of professional teams integrated by the online mediation platform, and recruit qualified mediation organizations or personnel familiar with veterans' affairs so as to provide customized services.

The guideline also urged people's courts at all levels to set up green channels for veterans at litigation service halls in, use online litigation service platforms for smarter and more targeted services, and prioritize service for disabled and elderly veterans.
