The Supreme People's Court and the Supreme Peoples Procuratorate released two judicial interpretations of several issues concerning the application laws to better deal with criminal cases of manipulating securities and futures markets on June 28 at a press conference in Beijing.

Dealing with criminal cases of manipulating securities and futures markets and trade with unpublished information are the major focuses of the judicial interpretations.

The interpretations are very meaningful for punishing securities and futures crimes in accordance with the law, prevention and dissolving the financial risks and safeguarding legal rights of investors, said Li Yong, presiding judge of the SPC's Criminal Adjudication Tribunal No 3.

The two interpretations are also significant to ensure the stable reform of STAR Market, informally dubbed the science and technology innovation board.

Hosted by SPC spokesperson Li Guangyu, the press conference was attended by Jiang Yongyi, deputy presiding judge of the SPC's Criminal Adjudication Tribunal No 3, Cheng Hehong, director of the Department of Legal Affairs of the China Securities Regulatory Commission.
