Meng said law enforcement and security cooperation are the cornerstones of the relations between two countries.

China is willing to work together with the UK to implement the important consensus reached by both countries and make better use of the security dialogue mechanism, said Meng.

He added that both countries should deepen pragmatic cooperation in various areas, including counter-terrorism, combating cyber and economic crimes, and fighting against human trafficking.

Meng expressed his hope that the “golden period” of the China-UK relationship will reach a new height.

Sedwill echoed Meng, saying that the UK is willing to maintain a long-term and deepening cooperative relationship with China.

He hoped that the two sides will make more pragmatic progress in counter-terrorism and cyber security.
