SPC notes Russia’s experience in judicial reform

He Rong, vice president of China’s Supreme People’s Court, said she hopes that China can learn from Russia’s experience in judicial reform recently in a meeting with a Russian delegation led by Alexander Malishkin, President of the Court of Vladimir Oblast.

He welcomed the Russian delegation saying that the smooth growth of the China-Russia all-round strategic partnership and fruitful exchanges and cooperation in legal matters have had a positive influence on the two countries’ development of the rule of law.

China has been trying to implement rule of law and promote the modernization of its legal governance system and capacity since the opening of the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, according to He.

Chinese courts are pushing forward judicial reform by developing an online case-filing system and methods of improving judicial responsibility; at the same time, they are seeking to make people feel equity and justice by promoting information construction and enhancing judicial credibility, also important tasks of the reform.

Malishkin expressed gratitude to He for the meeting and explained Russia’s judicial system reform. He said that the development and innovation of Chinese courts are really admirable and he hopes to strengthen exchanges and learn more about Chinese courts’ experience in judicial reform and construction of judicial information publicity.
