Shanxi University's biotechnology academician workstation recently got the green light from the Shanxi Resources and Social Security Department.

The academician workstation was established on the basis of the College of Life Science at the university and it appointed Xin Shiwen, an academician at the Chinese Academy of Engineering and an internationally renowned plant molecular biologist and agricultural biotechnology expert, to be its director.

Led by Xin Shiwen, the workstation will carry out cooperative research on soybean seed bioreactors developing, sorghum high lysine content variety breeding, as well as functional food research and development, to improve the research and development capabilities of Shanxi University in the biotechnology field.
