A new film titled “Major Cold” which contains interviews with “comfort women” who were forced into sexual slavery imposed by Japan’s wartime army, was released at Shanxi University on Jan 5.

The film exposes the brutality of the Imperial Japanese Army who forced Chinese women to act as sex slaves during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (1931-45) and condemns modern Japan’s refusal to properly face up to its past.

The film director interviewed 127 “comfort women” over the past 30 years, providing evidence for the crimes committed by Japanese troops during World War Two, to remind audiences of the importance of remembering history and cherishing the peace.
