A tourism promotion conference took place in Jinzhong, Shanxi province on Sept 21, as an important part of the 2017 Shanxi Tourism Development Conference.
More than 200 representatives of the industry and government officials took part in the event. They exchanged ideas on stimulating tourism development in the province.
Wang Lin, deputy director of Shanxi Provincial Tourism Development Commission, explained the newly revised preferential policies concerning tourism and extended a warm welcome to people from around the world to visit Shanxi.
"Shanxi aims to develop tourism as a pillar industry and play a leading role nationwide," said Wang.
The province has completed its mechanism reforms in the tourism sector and made great efforts to attract investment, according to Wang.
The tourism commission has signed cooperation agreements with eight banks and formed a financing platform for the industry.
Market regulations and infrastructure at scenic spots has also been improved to create a better business environment.
The conference also witnessed the establishment of partnerships between local tourism businesses and those from around the country.
