A bullet train between the cities of Shenyang, capital of Liaoning province, and Dandong, on China's border with the DPRK, is undergoing trial operations and is expected to officially open on Aug 31, with a speed of 250 kilometers/hr, cutting the travel time between the two, from 4 hours down to 53 minutes. Tickets are expected to cost about 80 yuan ($13).
And, the ride to Benxi, a city along the line, will take only 20 minutes, with tickets costing about 30 yuan. The train will depart from Shenyang's new South Station in the Hunnan district, which will open the same day with train line does.
