Jilin University students get help to improve their English skills

A Changchun-based hotel helped a couple of Jilin university students auction off their artworks, with the raised money going toward buying English newspapers to improve their English language skills, on Nov 28th.

Jilin university students donated 21 pieces of their artworks, all of which were sold out including paper-cuttings, Chinese paintings and little hand-made decorations.

Gong zhifeng, whose piece of work sold for a worth of 400 yuan, said, "I barely knew how to paint before my college year."
The freshman joined in a painting society right after entering Jilin University. "I spent almost half a day drawing," the English major said, and adding "I’m glad the money I earned can go toward helping more college students read English newspapers."
In commenting on the significance of the auction for charity, Tian Keqiang, the event coordinator said, "it helps college students showcase their talents and also get big rewards."

The money raised will be used to purchase English newspapers for Jilin university students to improve their English language skills.
