World judo grand prix held in Hohhot

The 2017 World Judo Grand Prix (China) took place in Hohhot from June 30 to July 2, according to a press conference hosted by the Chinese Judo Association. A total of 166 athletes from 24 countries competed for the coveted prizes in 14 events.

Authorized by the International Judo Federation, the Hohhot Judo Championships are an A-level sporting event and scores achieved can help competitors to qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Inner Mongolia assigned 24 judo athletes to compete against international professionals from Russia, Germany, Japan, and North Korea.

The event has boosted Chinese professional judo as well as the development of sports in Inner Mongolia. It is also a chance to showcase to the world the achievements Inner Mongolia has made during the seven decades since it was established.
