Heavy snowfall landed in Bilahe forest on May 5, causing firefighters and rangers to quickly evacuate the site. Trucks and helicopters were dispatched to withdraw the firefighters who had been continuously combating a blaze in the forest.
After a three-day battle with the blazing flames, firefighters and forest rangers were able to extinguish the fire as snowfall aided in burying smoldering ashes.
The firefighting headquarters rallied the scattered firefighters to designated areas to wait for evacuation.
