Ski slope paved across Kubuqi desert, creating land of ice and fire

A group of skiers take on the snowy slope at the Xiangshawan Desert Resort in the Kubuqi Desert of Dalad Banner, Ordos, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on Dec 11. The Xiangshawan Desert Resort, which literally translates to Whistling Dune Bay, has been recognized as China’s first desert-style resort and an AAAAA grade tourist destination approved by the China National Tourism Administration. Its ski slope officially opened to the public on Dec 11, and people can have fun skiing, driving snowmobiles, or riding sleds and sleighs. Tourists can not only enjoy the ice and fire landscape but there are also plenty of entertainment events there, and especially for snow-lovers.
