Hohhot, capital of North China’s Inner Mongolia, and known as “China’s dairy capital”, co-launched China Dairy Industry Big Data Platform (Niudata), the nation’s first one-stop analytics and trading platform for the dairy industry, with the big data industry leader Guoyun Data (Suzhou).

The platform was created to facilitate international cooperation and exchanges in the field, and provide solutions through integrating dairy data and resources around the globe to promote the industry’s unified management and industrialization in China.

The platform is comprehensive and inclusive, as it would continuously renew statistics for production, sales, exports and imports, and allow experts and elites from various sectors to further big data research and analysis, according to Ma Xiaodong, head of Guoyun Data (Suzhou).

Ma said that Niudata offered 1,000 free data analysis accounts to students at Inner Mongolia Normal University, so that they could release timely and up-to-date professional reports, and the R&D advantages of research institutes could also be brought into play.

It enables governments to make opportune adjustments according to data from industry trends, the demands of businesses, feedback from residents and the life satisfaction index.

Businesses as well as other interest groups will receive specialized policies, privileges and guidance through the platform.

Also, it helps to assure better milk quality and boost standards of food safety.

The Niudata platform was co-founded by corporations including the state’s leading milk producers, China Mengniu Dairy Company Limited and Inner Mongolia Yili Industrial Group Company Limited, all based in Hohhot.

It was launched in Hohhot as the city is the country’s largest manufacturer of milk, and has been striving to establish China’s most vibrant dairy industry chain and become the “world dairy center”.
