On Aug 4, the Fifth International Youth Culture and Art Exchanges opened at the Centennial Hall of Peking University, and the ethnic Mongolian singer Ulantuya attended the ceremony.

The exchanges, themed as "closer the youth, blessing the world", invited extraordinary teenagers and art troupes from 14 countries including Russia, Thailand, the United States, Finland, South Korea and many others to join in.

The Chinese teenagers and ensembles together with renowned musicians like Lv Wei and Ulantuya gave a splendid performance on the stage of the festival. At the event, Ulantuya performed some popular Mongolian songs, electrifying the assembled crowd.

Born in Horqin Grassland, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, Ulantuya has contributed to spreading ethnic minorities’ culture and music, as well as volunteering for public welfare projects. The singer has been dubbed "Mongolian flower" by people.

"I am quite honored to attend such a gala for the youth worldwide in Beijing. The exchanges provide a platform for global teenagers to broaden their horizons and communicate with each other", said Ulantuya.

As the host country, the event can help educate young people from foreign countries about Chinese ethnic culture and arts, as well as promote our traditional music worldwide, the singer added.
