Comprehensive pollution controls

The district started a campaign against air pollution from coal-fired boilers, putting 540 million yuan into it, while banning new boiler use and removing existing boilers or replacing them with new energy, resulting in 60 percent new energy coverage across the district.

It is also making full use of its residual industrial heat resources for residual energy stations heating 600,000-square-meter area.

The district is working to improve its industrial emissions system and exhaust recycling and was chosen for a key national circular economy pilot city progam.

These methods have allowed it to lower SO2 emissions by 4,521 tons and nitric oxide by 1,038 tons.

It is also using long-term management methods for online scanning, environment quality checks and evaluations, a hotline to report problems and a GPS command system, leaving no loopholes in pollution controls.

 Ecological forestation

In conjunction with the comprehensive pollution controls, another area of attention has been the forestation and greening in the district.

Over the past year, it completed work on five key areas, and a 14.8-kilometer bicycling green belt. Thanks to these and other efforts, air quality in the district has been improved and it has become a better place for living, manufacturing and industry.
