Chinese and Mongolian media plays an important role in the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative and the construction of China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor, said Wu Lan, head of Inner Mongolia’s Department of Publicity at the sixth Sino-Mongolian Journalism Forum in Alxa League, Inner Mongolia, on Oct 15.

Jointly organized by the Inner Mongolia Information Office and Mongolian Journalists Association, the forum explores media cooperation and connectivity between the two countries.
Chui Yuying, deputy head of the State Council Information Office, said at the opening ceremony that China and Mongolia have a stable foundation for cooperation. Sino-Mongolian cooperation is stepping to a higher level and journalistic exchanges are becoming significant, she said, hoping that the media will shoulder responsibility as a bridge in for the two countries in the Belt and Road Initiative and the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor.

The China-Mongolia Journalism Forum has been held for five successive years since it was established in 2010 and has become increasing important in promoting understanding between the two countries'?peoples.
Mongolian President Tsakhia Elbegdorj sent a letter of congratulations to the opening ceremony of this year’s session.
Media from China and Mongolia should use the forum to facilitate more cooperation between the two countries, said B.Galaarid, chairman of the Mongolian Journalists Association.
The attendees, including representatives from two countries’ journalism and academic circles, have agreed to a written proposal for media cooperation and exchange.
