The opening ceremony of China Contemporary Calligraphy Gallery was held in tandem with the calligraphy industry expo’s opening. This art gallery was officially put into use this October as the largest calligraphy gallery in China. A total of over 1,500 calligraphy works was exhibited in the gallery during the calligraphy art festival, including the gallery's collection.

Wuhai has a remarkable foundation in calligraphy art, which is also its regional cultural highlight. It was hailed as "China's City of Calligraphy in 2007." From then on, a series of policies and measures were put forward by the city to promote its calligraphy industry and expand the related culture.
