Nanzhao county in Nanyang, Henan province is enjoying a tourist boom thanks to the local government's investment in promoting the region's rustic scenery and folk culture.

According to local reports, the county has established?six tourism demonstration bases, 10 specialized manors and?eight rural homestays, providing jobs for more than 13,000 farmers.

The local flower industry, Zen culture and root carving have also been promoted in an effort to attract visitors.

And the government has invested in improving tourists' experiences in Nanzhao, creating four hiking routes to give visitors access to the county's most attractive scenery and improving local tourist services.
