Guiyang launches preferential policies to boost tourism

Updated: 2020-04-08

To promote the recovery of the tourism industry from the COVID-19 outbreak, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, launched a series of preferential policies on April 1 to attract tourists.

According to the policies, all medical workers, police officers, and soldiers in active service can enjoy free entrance to Guiyang's A-level scenic spots (excluding hot springs and licensed operational business) by Dec 31 with valid certificates, while Chinese citizens can enjoy a 50 percent discount on tickets.

Tianhetan Scenic Spot and Nanjiang Grand Canyon is open to the public free from Monday to Friday before July 1, and direct buses to these scenic spots are offering a 50 percent discount for Chinese citizens until June 30.

All hotels and homestays in Guizhou should keep a price no higher than online travel agency platforms before June 30, and provide free value-added services for guests.

Rental car agencies designated by the Guiyang bureau of culture and tourism are offering a 20 percent discount from Monday to Friday, and a 10 percent discount during weekends.

The Colorful Guizhou Style show at the Grand Theater of Guiyang is free for all medical workers in Guiyang, and is offering a 50 percent discount for Chinese citizens before Dec 31.

The Guiyang tourism industry association is offering a tourism product package priced at 389 yuan ($55.10) for families. The package includes two adult tickets and one child ticket for one scenic spot, one-night accommodation, one tourist commodity, and several coupons.

All Chinese citizens can collect coupons for purchasing books, show tickets, movie tickets, scenic spot tickets, hotels, and travel agencies by registering at the official WeChat account of "貴陽文化惠民訂閱號."
