Zhanjiang ready for Beibu Gulf Rim meeting

The Beibu Gulf Organization for Economic Cooperation will hold its ninth meeting?from Oct 26 to 27, with a view to promoting economic integration of the coastal cities around the Beibu Gulf Rim in Zhanjiang, the largest port city along the coast of South China's Guangdong province.
To ensure the meeting goes well, Zhanjiang Mayor Wang Zhongbing presided over a meeting on Oct 8, where Wang called upon relevant departments to pay close attention, and work together to show participants a vibrant and promising Zhanjiang.

Government leaders and business representatives from 14 member cities, including Haikou, Beihai, Maoming, Yangjiang, and four guest cities, Nanning, Sanya, Yulin and Chongzuo, will be present at the meeting to discuss economic and trade cooperation.
Cooperation agreements on various sectors including tourism, sports, transportation, culture and housing fund, will be reached during the upcoming meeting.
In order to reinforce mutual economic exchanges and build the Beibu Gulf Rim into an economic development engine for South China, the Beibu Gulf Organization for Economic Cooperation was set up on Oct 24, 2000. The number of members in the organization has since reached 18.
