The Practice and Innovation of China’s Digital Cultural Industry (No. 82, 2020)

Abstract: China’s digital cultural industry has successfully found an innovation path that is not only a breakthrough to its traditional cultural industry development, but differs from the industrial development of cultural innovation in developed countries. It has also conducted a series of activities on effective practical innovation. The integration of the Internet and cultural industry, the emergence of UGC and business format changes has led to a special mode of digital cultural industry in China. And then, on the basis of innovator economy, a number of practices have resulted in a reform on the organization form of digital cultural industry, which include the innovation on the production organization of digital cultural industry, artificial intelligence becoming a significant underpinning for digital cultural innovation industry and the shift of consumption Internet industry towards industrial internet that will promote the innovation of its managerial system. In light of the facts mentioned above, this paper proposes the following policy options on promoting the innovation of the organization of digital cultural industry. First, diversified modes of articulation and narrative for “Chinese stories” need to be established. Second, a comprehensive cultural value system with new cultural creation, re-practice and co-governance as its core needs to be set up. Third, the creative capability and resource-sharing mechanism for community economy needs to be enhanced. Fourth, the inclusive policy mechanism that enables the creation-oriented co-governance of diversified parties needs to be optimized.
