Research Report, No. 37, 2020 (Total 5781) 2020-3-16

Abstract: Major developed economies attach great importance to the security of global supply chain and promote the development of supply chain system from a strategic perspective. The U.S. takes the supply chain strategy as a national strategy and sets high store on supply chain security relating to key materials and infrastructure, national defense, high-end manufacturing and high technology in a bid to construct a flexible supply chain. The UK closely combines supply chain with manufacturing industry to enhance manufacturing competitiveness. Germany promotes industrial intelligence and improves the level of intelligence, advancement and security of supply chain. Japan gives a boost to transnational and cross-regional supply chain cooperation and expands world market and trade to attract global talents, material resources and funds. The above-mentioned measures taken by developed economies are strategic adjustments. Due to the fact that national competition has become a competition aiming at supply chain enhancement, these strategic adjustments are made from the perspective of national security, industrial competition, international trade and sustainable growth. China needs to pay attention to supply chain security, improve the supply chain elasticity of key industries, promote the reform of supply chain efficiency, and strengthen the sustainable development of emergency supply chain.
