Research Report, No. 12, 2020 (Total 5756) 2020-2-12

Abstract: During the Spring Festival (China’s lunar New Year) in 2019, the scale of China’s population migration became huge, and the population was highly concentrated and mobile in urban areas, posing a great challenge to the epidemic prevention and control. At present, Chinese people across the country are firmly united in the fight against the epidemic. In key areas with high incidence of infections, urban traffic has been held up and communities managed in a closed-off way to prevent the outflow of potential infected people. And for main areas of population inflow, border checkpoints are set up in an effort to block the inflow of cases. Communities nationwide have imposed strict restrictions on access and strengthened the management of residents to prevent the spread of the virus between neighbors. Efforts are made to gather relevant information of people returning back either to their homes or workplaces after the Spring Festival holiday, help their accommodation, provide protective materials, increase the reception and treatment capability and guarantee the necessary quarantine. Prevention and control standards and operational norms for key places have been formulated by category. The construction of an information traceability system for population flow has been promoted, and the capability has been enhanced to control population flow precisely with smart technology under different circumstances.
