Research Report, No.170, 2019 (Total 5670) 2019-9-25

Abstract: Since the founding of New China, the transportation industry has made great progress and played an important role in promoting and safeguarding national economic and social development. Currently, it is urgent for the industry to adapt to the changes in the international economic pattern and the new trend of technological transformation. Under the guidance of the new development concept, China needs to adjust the strategic repositioning of transportation in a timely manner. In other words, the industry needs to be transformed into a front-runner in global transportation innovation, a leader in high-quality development at home, and a major promoter of global governance. We need to make solid progress in supply-side structural reform in transportation at both the national and strategic levels, improve organizational support and flesh out departmental coordination mechanisms, build a policy system in step with its repositioning, forge new advantages in global competition in transportation, and comprehensively enhance its capacity and gain a bigger say in global governance. Through the adjustment of positioning, we need to determine the direction and priorities of transportation development in the new era and lead it to a high-quality, innovative and open-oriented development, so as to make more contributions to the building of a well-off society in an all-round way, the construction of a powerful nation with socialist modernization, the fulfillment of the "Two Centenary Goals” and the realization of great rejuvenation of the Chinese Dream.
