Research Report No.2, 2017 (Total 5077) 2017-01-09

Abstract: The development of creative industry in the “Internet Plus” era has raised new requirements for copyright protection. Copyright needs not only to be effectively and further protected, but also needs a transfer mechanism for convenient application, which requires government support. In light of domestic performance and international experience, China needs to play a leading role in the development of Internet Plus in the world, enhance effective protection for copyright, adjust the legal protection scope in accordance with industrial and innovation development, formulate relevant benchmarks for judging infringements in the new era, and increase the intensity of punishment. In addition, China needs to give priority to the mechanism for a more convenient application of copyright, expand the scope of reasonable use and enforcement measures, promote the pilot practice for the rapid transfer of copyright, and promote the application of knowledge-sharing agreements. Without timely introduction and application of innovations in the “Internet Plus” era, copyright will soon lose its commercial value. Therefore, convenient application holds greater importance in this new era.
