Research Report No.185, 2016 (Total 5068) 2016-12-21

Abstract: The coordinated development of cultural tourism in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region is not only an important component part of the coordinated development, but also a critical leverage to push forward the coordinated development strategy in this region. Viewing from both the geographical and cultural perspectives, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region is inextricably linked with each other, which serves as the foundation for the coordinated development of cultural tourism in this region. With the issuance of relevant plans for the coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the foundation and policy measures for the coordinated development of cultural tourism in this region have become more solid and adequate. But there still remain some issues to be addressed. For instance, cultural tourism entities are not closely coordinated with each other, cultural tourism in less-developed areas is marginalized, the integration of cultural tourism resources is impeded by administrative system and the coordinated development of regional cultural tourism lacks models to follow. In order to boost the coordinated development of cultural tourism in the region, it is suggested that the Leading Group Office of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Coordinated Development needs to take a leading role in building regional brand of cultural tourism of this region, improve the weak links relating to cultural tourism networks, reduce the negative influence of administrative system and improve the coordinated governance system of cultural tourism of this region.

Key words: cultural tourism, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development, institutional innovation
