Bruce Willis' rug trouble

Bruce Willis has been accused of ruining a $27,700 rug.

The 'Die Hard' actor - who allegedly bought a handmade wool and silk carpet from Mansour, a fine rug store in Los Angeles - is being sued by the company after he returned the item with a red wine stain and is refusing to accept he made the mark or is offering to pay for the damage.

According to a lawsuit filed by Los Angeles County Superior Court, the company delivered the rug, which had been discounted by 10 per cent, to his home in December when it was in perfect condition.

Six weeks later, Bruce - who had the item altered a few inches - then decided he wanted to return it, even though he hadn't yet paid for it.

When Mansour representatives came to collect the rug it had however been stained with "spilled or dripped red wine".

According to court documents, the 54-year-old star claims no one in the Willis household caused the wine damage, while the rug company are also adamant the stain didn't exist when they originally delivered it.

Bruce's lawyer Marty Singer has branded the lawsuit was "ridiculous".
