Ella & Pitr created amazing illusions by framing a range of people, from old men to small children, in fantastical situations. Recent work in their home town of St Etienne in France features picture frames painted on floors, walls and ceiling using the anamorphic art technique which allows the true image to be viewed from one perspective.
One work features a goldfish bowl seemingly teetering on the frame of a huge orange painting, while others make clever use of a staircase to create impossible viewpoints. Ella, 28, and Pitr, 31, do not release their real names "because we have some trouble with justice", say they are a couple with two children.
