Chinese and international experts on intangible cultural heritage protection exchanged their views and experiences on Friday in Beijing during a meeting on Networking on Safeguarding Intangible Cultural Heritage.

A platform to bridge participants of the Chinese National Commission for UNESCO and other countries, the meeting was held by CRIHAP (International Training Center for Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia Pacific Region under the auspices of UNESCO).

Speakers at the meeting included Ding Wei, vice minister with China's Ministry of Culture, Getachew Engida, deputy director-general of UNESCO, and ambassadors to UNESCO from eight countries.

During the meeting, Chinese participants shared China's achievements in recent years on intangible cultural heritage protection, and received comments from ambassadors and officials from UNESCO. The meeting also invited Li Yongjun, head of the cultural company Youngxin Huayun, to share the company's innovations and operating plan for an under-construction national expo park that will showcase China's intangible cultural heritage.

CRIHAP was founded in Beijing in 2012, and has held many such international meetings to promote communication and networking between counties to protect intangible cultural heritage.
