Wine vessels in Tibet

China Tibet Online | Updated: 2013-06-28 09:41

Tibetans love drinking wine. As an old Tibetan saying goes, wine is to the Tibetans what willow leaves to goats. Therefore, the love for wine cradles a shared hobby of all walks of life in Tibet, collecting wine vessels. The craftsmanship of making wine vessels dates back to about 4,000 years ago, when pottery vessel was the main liquor container, indicated by the cultural relics of the Karub Culture unearthed in Chamdo prefecture, East of Tibet.
