China Youth Daily leads its front page with a comment entitled "Don't make news if there's no news." It criticized members of the news media who fabricated the reason for Chen Xianmei quitting her job. Chen, the illiterate scrap peddler who picked up 2-year-old toddler Yueyue off the street, was not forced off the land as previously reported. Chen actually felt exhausted after the intensive media coverage. |
