Business-to-business mobile e-commerce market to grow by 80%

China's business-to-business (B2B) mobile e-commerce market size is expected to reach 24.2 billion yuan in 2015, 79.3 percent year-on-year increase thanks to expanding procurement made through mobile tools, said a report.

The research report by Beijing-based Analysys International Ltd released in Shanghai on Thursday said that B2B transactions will take larger share of entire e-business market in the future, which is expected to reach 13.8 trillion yuan by 2017.

"Online procurement with advantage of transparency, convenience and supporting data analysis services will help enterprises, especially smaller ones which do not have team devoted to procurement to reduce their operational cost and enhance efficiency," the report said.

Market players in e-commerce have also been developing B2B platforms particularly to serve enterprises' needs.

In 2015, JD.com and Suning.com both launched platforms providing procurement tools for companies.

Zhang Li, CEO and founder of Sydney-listed 99 Wuxian Limited, enterprise online services provider, said that the e-commerce market in China requires more services that integrate products, tools, and services.

The company launched incentives-related services that help enterprises to better manage procurement covering welfare packages for employees, a niche-market that Zhang said she believes will be a growth engine for the business-to-enterprise sector.

Analysts said that e-commerce platforms need to develop more tailor-made procurement services that enables purchasers to quickly find exactly what enterprises need, and enhance logistic and payment experiences for purchasers.
