Apple Inc saw its best weekly result last week driven by robust sales from its new partner China Mobile Ltd, company CEO Tim Cook said on Tuesday.

Yet strong China sales may not help the US company realize a year-on-year revenue increase in the following quarters.

"It's been an incredible start," said Cook, adding China Mobile will help Apple to reach customers in more than 300 cities in China.

"We are selling in just 16 cities with China Mobile, we have quite the ramp in front of us," he added.

The company did not disclose iPhone 5S and 5C sales amounts in China.

On the same day, Apple announced a lower-than-expected fiscal second quarter forecast that will include the first full-quarter sales from China Mobile, the world's largest telecom carrier by subscriber number.

The company set its second quarter revenue between $42 billion and $44 billion while Wall Street is expecting around $46 billion from the company in the same period.

Apple gained $43.6 billion in revenue during its 2013 fiscal second quarter.

The company's fiscal 2014 first quarter ended on Dec 28, 2013.
