Taobao, Tmall to integrate e-commerce giant JD's logistics service
Chinese tech heavyweight Alibaba Group Holding Ltd's online marketplaces Taobao and Tmall will soon officially integrate Chinese e-commerce giant JD's logistics service, with the launch projected in mid-October.
Once the service is available, sellers on Taobao and Tmall will have one more option, JD Logistics, while selecting the delivery methods, the company told China Daily.
Meanwhile, JD will introduce Cainiao Express and Cainiao Station, the self-operated parcel delivery and distribution services provided by Alibaba's logistics arm Cainiao Group on its online marketplace.
JD also plans to add Alipay, an online payment tool operated by financial technology company Ant Group. The service is expected to be rolled out as an additional payment method on JD's platform ahead of the Double 11 or Singles Day shopping festival.
Moreover, consumers purchasing products on Alibaba's Taobao platform can now use Tencent's WeChat Pay for transactions starting from Friday. Taobao and Tmall announced earlier this month that they will begin accepting mobile payment option from Tencent's WeChat Pay, as part of a broader push to improve consumer shopping experience.
