China-Africa infrastructure cooperation: a model for mutual gains

In a recent interview with #ChinaPerspectives, Ye Hailin, dean of China-Africa Institute at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, said that improving infrastructure conditions is a common expectation and urgent desire of African countries. Without closely interconnected transportation infrastructure, discussions about unimpeded trade, financial integration and people-to-people exchanges would be impossible. Even as infrastructure investment faces bottlenecks in some other parts of the world, Africa is a fertile ground where China, which is often dubbed as "an infrastructure maniac" online, can truly shine.
