Qinhuangdao offers unique coastal scenery of the Great Wall sections. About 300 kilometers east of Beijing, the sections measuring about 220 km were built during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), with the most famous being Shanhai Pass, or Shanhaiguan in Chinese, located at the eastern part of the Great Wall where it meets the sea. The city also boasts scenic spots featuring mountains and seas.
The seaside community of Aranya in the city was earlier listed as one of "the world's greatest places of 2024 — 100 extraordinary destinations to explore" by Time magazine. Tourists can also enjoy various facilities such as libraries and bookstores, meeting their different needs.
