Eight dead after minibus collision

Eight individuals were killed and one was injured after a minibus and a large truck collided on Friday in Chengde, Hebei province, according to a notice issued late Friday by police of the Weichang Manchu and Mongolian autonomous counties.
The collision occurred on National Highway 510 at around 8:30 am. Preliminary investigations revealed that a minivan, driven by a 49-year-old man named Li, attempted to overtake a sedan when it collided head-on with a large truck driven by a 50-year-old man named Chen.
The injured individual is currently receiving medical treatment in the hospital and is reported to have stable vital signs.
Local police said the investigation and handling of the accident are being carried out in accordance with the law.
